What is Gold Bond adhesive?
National Gypsum introduced the Gold Bond brand with its signature wallboard product with the promise that it was the lightest and strongest wallboard available, or anyone who could prove otherwise received $5000. They soon expanded into many other products, including insulation, adhesives, cements, and more. Gold Bond adhesive was used to secure and insulate floor and ceiling tiles. Gold Bond products were indeed effective and popular, but unfortunately many contained asbestos. How asbestos can cause mesothelioma and other illnesses?
Asbestos is the general term for a group of different naturally occurring fibrous forms of several mineral silicates. These silicates grow in crystal structures of billions of microscopic fibers that are so light they can remain suspended in the air for hours or even days.
